Texas A&M DB Will Lee III calls out ‘disrespectful’ 8-4 predictions
Texas A&M defensive back Will Lee III is ready to prove people wrong this season.
Lee met with reporters in College Station on Friday afternoon and said his teammates have taken notice of the doubt that many have of Texas A&M entering this season.
“Everybody wants to win, that’s the main thing … Everybody is tired of [people] saying we’re going to be an 8-4 team and stuff like that,” Lee said. “It is really disrespectful, and everybody is taking that on the heart. Everybody is coming out here every day and working hard and just trying to be the greatest team we can be and change the history of Texas A&M football.”
Here’s a clip of Lee’s comments:
Lee’s comments reference a key point about A&M’s history — since the turn of the century, the Aggies have lost fewer than 4 games in a season just twice. Once was in a COVID-shortened 2020 campaign and the other was in 2012 as Johnny Manziel took the nation by storm and won the Heisman Trophy. Since joining the Big 12 in 1996, Texas A&M has just 2 seasons of 10+ wins (1998 and 2012).
The Aggies are looking to change that this fall. They will open up the 2025 season against UTSA as 22.5-point favorites, according to most college football odds.
Kickoff against the Roadrunners is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on Aug. 30.
