Texas A&M edge plans to enter transfer portal after 2 seasons with Aggies

A Texas A&M defender is looking at continuing his college football career elsewhere after 2 seasons in Aggieland.

Hayes Fawcett of On3 shared the news via social media that Solomon Williams plans to enter his name into the transfer portal. Williams reposted Fawcett on his own X account.

Out of Tampa (Florida) Carrollwood Day High School, Williams was a sought-after recruit. He was rated 4-stars, the No. 21 edge, No. 28 player in the state of Florida and No. 220 prospect overall in the Class of 2024 on the 247Sports Composite. He collected scholarship offers from 48 schools during his recruitment, taking visits to Texas A&M, UCF, Alabama, Oregon and Texas.

Williams redshirted his first season on campus. He appeared in 3 games of the 2024 campaign, including the Las Vegas Bowl where he made 3 tackles, including 1.5 TFLs.

This season, Williams appeared in 11 games. He totaled 7 tackles with 3 TFLs.

The transfer portal opens for entry on Jan. 2.
