Jimbo Fisher is reportedly promoting one of his defensive analysts to an on-field assistant position. Bryant Gross-Armiento will reportedly be an on-field assistant after serving 2 seasons on staff as an analyst. Matt Zenitz of On3 was the first to report the news.
Gross-Armiento’s title will be secondary coach, per Zach Barnett of FootballScoop. Gross-Armiento will work alongside defensive backs coach TJ Rushing, who is returning for a fourth season at Texas A&M.
Fisher added Gross-Armiento to the Texas A&M staff in July 2021. Gross-Armiento joined the Aggies after a season at Georgia in a similar off-field role.
Gross-Armiento played safety at Wake Forest under former Texas A&M defensive coordinator Mike Elko. He worked for his alma mater in the recruiting department and on the support staff in 2018 and ’19.
Texas A&M had a defensive on-field staff opening after co-coordinator Tyler Santucci left to be the new defensive coordinator at Duke, where Elko is entering his second season as head coach.
