Texas A&M fans give former coach Billy Gillispie a standing ovation before game

From 2004 to 2007, Billy Gillispie spent 3 seasons as the head coach of the Texas A&M men’s basketball program.

He finished his time in College Station with an overall record of 70-26 before moving on to take the Kentucky job.

On Wednesday, he came back to Reed Arena as the head coach of Tarleton State. As you can see below, the limited capacity crowd gave him a standing ovation:

That was certainly a cool moment before the Aggies tipped off against Gillispie’s new squad.

Gillispie made 2 NCAA Tournaments with the Aggies, advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2007 before leaving for Kentucky, where he spent 2 seasons and went 40-27.
