Texas A&M entered Week 13 among the handful of 2-loss SEC teams looking to build toward a potential College Football Playoff appearance. However, the first half against Auburn could have those Playoff hopes slipping away.

Despite Auburn having a rough season and entering the game at 4-6 overall, the Tigers have outplayed the Aggies on both sides of the ball. That especially includes the Auburn offense that opened the game with 21 straight points, including a massive showing from true freshman Cam Coleman.

Coleman scored on a 63-yard bomb and has already cracked 100 yards receiving and multiple touchdowns in back-to-back games. It is also Coleman’s first SEC game with 100 yards receiving.

Payton Thorne has also been shredding the Aggie defense regularly with his arm. He started the game 7-for-8 and entered the half with 190 passing yards in one of his best halves of action this season.

A&M did wake up a bit and has cut the deficit to 21-7, so there is still a chance for the Aggies to turn things around. But the first half is eerily similar to A&M giving up 20 points in the first half of what eventually turned into a blowout loss to South Carolina on the road.

Here is a look at how fans and media reacted to that first half from the Aggies:
