Texas A&M has reportedly received a big boost to its defensive corps for 2026.
Ryan Henderson, a member of the San Diego State program for four seasons, has committed to the Aggies, his agent told CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz. Henderson will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Henderson, a Las Vegas product, signed with the Aztecs out of the 2022 recruiting class and redshirted during his initial season on campus. He went on to play in nine games in 2023, posting 1.0 sacks and a forced fumble. In 2024, he totaled 13 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
The 2025 campaign ended up being Henderson’s best with the Aztecs. He was credited with 24 tackles, tied for the team lead in sacks (7.0), and was fourth on the team in tackles for a loss (9.0). SDSU’s 32 sacks led the Mountain West.
Henderson’s pledge fills a big area of need for Texas A&M going into 2026. Cashius Howell, who was among the nation’s leaders in sacks with 11.5, has exhausted his eligibility. The second-highest sack total on the Aggies’ roster belonged to Dayon Hayes, with 4.5.
Henderson is the ninth transfer commitment of the cycle for Mike Elko and the Aggies.
