No. 3 Texas A&M is enjoying its first 8-0 start in 33 years, and the Aggies are reaping the benefits on the recruiting front.

Kamarui Dorsey, a 4-star 2027 recruit out of Hampton (Ga.) High School, has committed to Texas A&M – choosing the Aggies over offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU and many others. Ranked No. 41 overall on the 247 Sports Composite, Dorsey is the 5th-best safety recruit in the 2027 class and the No. 3 recruit in the 2027 class out of Georgia. He was courted by Texas A&M safeties coach Ishmael Aristide and running backs coach Trooper Taylor.

The Aggies reportedly began their pursuit of Dorsey when they extended an offer to him in May 2025. At that time, the Aggies were the 17th offer in Dorsey’s recruitment. Notably, Texas A&M offered Dorsey ahead of in-state Georgia – as the Bulldogs made an offer a day later.

“A&M stood out on every level, from the football standpoint to the person, who you are as a person, the connection they have with their players,” Dorsey said to Dawg247’s Benjamin Wolk. “I went to a game. Coach Troop, how he talks to his players, motivates his players.”

Landing Dorsey vaults Texas A&M to No. 2 in 247 Composite’s team rankings, behind only the Oklahoma Sooners.
