Texas A&M’s first commitment for the Class of 2018 is a big one, literally and figuratively.

According to Brian Perroni of 247Sports, four-star offensive tackle Luke Matthews pledged to the school on Tuesday evening. Matthews is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews. He’s also the younger brother of former Texas A&M offensive linemen Jake and Kevin Matthews.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Missouri City, Texas, native is rated as the No. 53 overall prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Here’s what Luke told Perroni about his decision, which it seems was a no-brainer.

“It’s just home to me. It’s where I want to play. I’ve grown up an Aggie watching my brothers play there. I love the school and can’t wait to play there myself.”
