Texas A&M made a statement drive late in the 4th quarter as the Aggies capped it with a 1-yard run as Max Johnson went over the top with 4:34 remaining.
The score gave the Aggies a 35-31 lead, their first in the game, as it’s been a struggle to this point, with multiple 2-touchdown deficits in Oxford. In what might be the best offensive 2nd half this season for the Aggies, the latest TD capped a 12-play drive that covered 67 yards in 6:24.
In the 4th quarter alone, the Aggies rang up 100 yards to 4 yards for Ole Miss, including 8 first downs and a 4th down conversion.
For context, Texas A&M’s first 4 drives covered 18 plays, 44 yards, and mustered 4 punts and zero points.
Texas A&M’s most recent 5 drives produced 50 plays, 362 yards and 28 points.
Johnson completed 8 of 10 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown with an interception in the 3rd quarter. He went 7-of-9 for 34 yards in the entire first half.
