As the college football coaching carousel finally winds down, business in the NCAA transfer portal is picking up.
On Monday, Texas A&M suffered a significant blow, as news broke that quarterback Zach Calzada would be leaving the program as a transfer.
Calzada appeared to confirm the reports by offering the following tweet:
I have THE MOST love for Texas A&M, my coach’s, teammates, and anybody who has been a part of this process. From the bottom of my heart…Thank you to the 12th man? pic.twitter.com/vZ4QnMGv84

Calzada did not begin the year as the Aggies’ starter, but he took over in Week 2 against Colorado after Haynes King was injured.
The 6-4, 210-pounder passed for 2,185 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions during the regular season.
Calzada was rated by the 247Sports composite as a 3-star prospect and the No. 20 pro-style quarterback in the 2019 class.
Before choosing Texas A&M, the Georgia native also held offers from Georgia, Cincinnati, Iowa, and Louisville among others.
Calzada joins Spencer Rattler, Kedon Slovis, Bo Nix, Max Johnson, Myles Brennan, and Harrison Bailey as battle-tested quarterbacks now in the transfer portal.
