Texas A&M quarterback Max Johnson has entered the transfer portal.
Johnson will enter the portal as a graduate transfer after 2 seasons with the Aggies, he announced on Sunday afternoon. Here’s Johnson’s announcement:
“Graduating from one of the greatest universities where earning my Aggie ring symbolized the incredible traditions and memories made is a true honor!
Thanks to my teammates, football staff, trainers, equipment managers and professors for shaping my journey. I have made friends that will last a lifetime. The great support from the 12th Man also fueled my passion as you have accepted me as your own.
I am entering the portal as a grad transfer. I’m looking forward embracing the possibilities ahead and I’m excited to see what God has in store for me as I navigate my next chapter.”

Johnson is able to enter the transfer portal prior to the official opening of the transfer window because Texas A&M fired its head coach. The Aggies parted ways with Jimbo Fisher earlier this month.
Johnson spent the past 2 seasons with Texas A&M after beginning his career at LSU. Because he is leaving Texas A&M as a graduate transfer, Johnson is expected to be eligible for the 2024 season.
Johnson played in 8 games this season for the Aggies. He completed 62.1% of his passes for 1,452 yards, 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
