Texas A&M’s new D-line coach played for the Aggies from 2008-11. Jerod-Eddie was promoted to an on-field coaching role after the team parted ways with Jimbo Fisher in November.
“Tony is not only a bright young coach, he’s an Aggie and can help us through this transition,” interim coach Elijah Robinson said in a statement late last year. “The players love and respect him and he will do an excellent job.”
Jerod-Eddie has deep ties to the state of Texas. In addition to playing in College Station, Jerod-Eddie attended DeSoto High School in Dallas, Texas. The Texas native will now have a very important role on Mike Elko’s first coaching staff at Texas A&M.
Texas A&M reportedly made another hire on Tuesday night by adding former Alabama receivers coach Holmon Wiggins. Barring any other changes, Elko’s first coaching staff in College Station is now complete.
