Give whomever runs the Texas A&M account on X (formerly Twitter) a pat on the back this morning for some world-class trolling in the wake of the Aggies’ 49-25 victory over LSU.
The postgame graphic and caption pokes a generous amount of fun at the 20th-ranked Tigers both for losing in lopsided fashion at home to the 3rd-ranked Aggies and also because they cancelled a pair of drone shows that were scheduled and promoted to light up the skies above Tiger Stadium.
Instead, for reasons that are unclear, the shows scheduled for halftime and the third/fourth quarter break did not occur. LSU led Texas A&M at halftime 18-14, so it is likely that cancellation was not for on-field performance… though with Texas A&M leading LSU 35-18 after 3 quarters, the plug might have gotten pulled on the latter show because the Tigers were getting handled.
More likely, inclement weather in and around the Baton Rouge area Saturday night was the cause for the twin cancellations – as no one wants to see drones falling from the skies either on a full Tiger Stadium or a half-empty Tiger Stadium.
LSU (5-3 overall, 2-3 SEC) attempts to rebound Nov. 8 at Alabama. Texas A&M (8-0, 5-0) plays at Missouri on Nov. 8.
