Texas fans may have to wait for their first look at the 2025 Longhorns.
The spring game traditionally provides fans an early look at the new team. According to a report from Texas insider Chip Brown of 247Sports, Steve Sarkisian is considering no spring game for the Longhorns in 2025.
Sarkisian is reportedly concerned about wear and tear on his players. Including the SEC Championship Game, Texas played 4 postseason contests for a 16-game 2024 campaign. The Longhorns would have played a 17th game had they reached the College Football Playoff National Championship.
There is notable excitement surrounding the 2025 Longhorns. Sarkisian now holds a 38-17 record in his Texas tenure, including 25-5 mark over the last 2 season. Texas is coming off back-to-back conference championship appearances and CFP berths, winning the Big 12 in its final season before switching to the SEC. The Longhorns played for the SEC title in Atlanta, but fell to Georgia for the second time.
All eyes are on Arch Manning as he steps into the starting QB position with Quinn Ewers off to the NFL. Manning will be a redshirt sophomore this fall, after playing in 2 games during the 2023 season and 10 games, including 2 starts, this past year.
