Texas fans skewer officiating during Alabama game over controversial no-call
Texas and Alabama are locked in a tight game in Austin on Saturday afternoon.
Despite losing quarterback Quinn Ewers to an apparent shoulder injury, the Longhorns are hanging tough against the top ranked team in the country.
The game is tied at 10 at the half, and that’s with Texas having failed on a couple of red-zone opportunities, including a short field goal miss by Bert Auburn on the final play of the half that would have put the Longhorns in front.
And Texas is in the game in spite of some questionable calls from the officiating crew, most notably what looked to be a couple of blatant pass interference penalties, that have not gone the Longhorns way in the opening 30 minutes.
Texas fans and others have certainly taken notice and have been boisterous on social media about the role the officials have played thus far:
It’s pretty disgusting how these refs love Alabama

Wow you can't beat Alabama and the refs. That should be two pass interference calls already that they didn't call on Alabama. ?

I'm all for letting players play, but man, Alabama is getting away with a call or two today.
If the refs are consistent and won't call it, fine with me. But there, a flag should come out.
