The Texas Longhorns have flipped an elite wide receiver in the 2025 class. On Thursday night, it was reported that 2025 4-star WR Daylan McCutcheon has flipped from Florida State to Texas.

“There’s no place like home,” said the Lucas, Texas native.

McCutcheon stars for Lovejoy High School in Lucas. The prospect is listed as the No. 14 WR in the 2025 class and the No. 20 prospect out of Texas per the 247Sports Composite ranking.

The youngster put up video game-like numbers in 2023, catching 92 passes for 1,430 yards and a whopping 20 touchdowns. McCutcheon also competes in track and field and receives rave reviews for his breakaway speed and route running.

McCutcheon originally committed to Florida State back in July after going on an official visit to the school in June. The WR chose the Seminoles after also visiting Texas, but has now gone back on that decision and will stay in his home state.

Texas now has the No. 6 class for 2025 as the school has a trio of 5-star players and 12 4-stars currently committed. Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench are the other WRs committed to Texas, both of which are 5-star prospects.

Prior to committing back in June, McCutcheon received heavy interest from Texas, USC, Ohio State, SMU, and others. The versatile WR will give Texas yet another weapon to utilize in the future.
