Texas A&M freshman Alton Robinson has been released from his scholarship, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman.

Robinson was arrested and charged with robbery in February after his ex-girlfriend told authorities that he stole her cell phone out of her purse.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound freshman rated as a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 28 weakside defensive end for the 2016 national signing class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
