Quinn Ewers might have just thrown the easiest touchdown pass of his entire life. And as a result, the No. 3 Longhorns lead Arkansas 7-0 with just over 7 minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Matthew Golden breezed past his defender, who completely misplayed his assignment, and was wide open in the end zone as a result. Here’s a look at the 20-yard TD connection:

The above reception put Golden above 400 yards receiving on the year while being filed away as his 7th touchdown reception.
This touchdown is thanks to a great play by Texas DB Jahdae Barron on the other side of the ball. Arkansas QB Taylen Green hit receiver Tyrone Broden right in the hands, but the receiver couldn’t hold on to it, falling right into the hands of Barron. The Longhorns were in the end zone 6 plays later.
Barron has had an excellent start to this one for the Longhorns, as he’s already sitting at multiple tackles and an interception – his 4th on the year.
This is exactly the start Texas needed in a hostile environment such a Fayetteville – where the Hogs downed Tennessee earlier in the year.
There’s plenty of football left to be played, let’s see if the Longhorns can keep their lead
