Texas A&M lands commitment from talented safety

Texas A&M received a nice Christmas present Saturday evening.

Yoakum, Texas, native Jordan Moore committed to the Aggies on Christmas Eve, and he let the news out on his Twitter account.

Moore is rated as the country’s No. 14 overall safety for the class of 2018, and he’s rated as the state of Texas’ No. 20 overall player in his class.

“I was going to commit [to Texas],” the 5-foot-11, 178-pound junior told 247Sports. “I sort of got caught up with my team playing at DKR in Austin and I was going to commit to them then.

“But, my family and I, we talked about it and A&M is the place for me. That’s where I want to be. (Texas defensive line coach) Oscar Giles is my cousin but I’m also related to (A&M wide receiver) Damion Ratley so that wasn’t a big deal.”

Of course, with Moore being a rising senior with one more high school season left, his rating could certainly improve.

It’s easy to see why Moore is a big-time prospect for his class watching his sophomore highlight tape:
