Whether you want Texas in the Southeastern Conference or not, it certainly seems like things are quickly trending in that direction.

The logistics of a potential jump from the Big 12 to the SEC appear to be a long way from finalized but it’s noteworthy that neither Texas, Oklahoma or the SEC have come out and denied reports that both schools plan to leave the Big 12 and have reached out to the SEC to gauge interest in joining the nation’s best conference.

A day after the initial reports of Texas eyeing a jump to the SEC were released, the official Longhorn football account issued an interesting tweet.

A throwback to Texas beating Texas A&M back in 2011 thanks to Justin Tucker making a 40-yard field goal as time expired.

This game was the final matchup in a series that dates back over 100 years.

If Texas does join the SEC, there’s no doubt this game will return to an annual matchup.
