Texas Longhorns linebacker reportedly found dead off campus

Awful news hit the Texas Longhorns community on Thursday when a report revealed that linebacker Jake Ehlinger was found dead by Austin Police.
Ehlinger is the younger brother of former Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger, and authorities did not specify how they found him but did say his death is not considered suspicious. No cause of death or other details were released, Hookem.com reported.
Ehlinger has not played the last two seasons. He’s from Austin, and played in high school at Westlake. His team bio also said he is a two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (fall 2019, spring 2020).
Sam Ehlinger was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round of the NFL draft Saturday. Jake’s face was accidentally shown on the NFL Network where a photo of Sam was supposed to be, and Sam loved it.
“Good, good,” Sam said with a huge grin during his availability with reporters. “Jake deserves all the screen time you can get.”
