Texas is a slight underdog in its College Football Playoff semifinal matchup against Ohio State, according to the betting markets.
FanDuel set the line at Ohio State -4.5 shortly after its win over Oregon in the Rose Bowl became official on Wednesday evening. Within a few minutes, though, the line shifted to Ohio State -5.5 as money came in on the Buckeyes.
The total for this game has been set at 54.5 points, per FanDuel.
Ohio State reached the semifinal after turning in a pair of dominant victories to start its Playoff run. The Buckeyes beat Tennessee 42-17 in Columbus last month and then dispatched Oregon 41-21 on Wednesday evening. Ohio State is also the new favorite to win the College Football Playoff at most books.
Texas has been less convincing so far in its 2 Playoff wins. The Longhorns beat Clemson in their first-round game before needing double-overtime to survive a comeback effort from Arizona State on Wednesday afternoon. After beginning this process as one of the favorites to win it all, Texas will now be an underdog going into its semifinal matchup.
Penn State will await the winner of Georgia vs. Notre Dame in the other semifinal, set to be played on Jan. 9. The Bulldogs and Fighting Irish will face off in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday.
Texas and Ohio State will play in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
