The Texas Longhorns missed out on a College Football Playoff berth and now are about to lose a wide receiver to the transfer portal.

Junior DeAndre Moore Jr. announced on Instagram is moving on from Austin after 3 seasons with the Longhorns. Speculation existed that Moore would either transfer or forgo his final season of eligibility to enter the 2026 NFL Draft.

Moore appeared in 36 games over the previous 3 seasons at Texas. After playing primarily on special teams as a true freshman in 2023, Moore turned in back-to-back solid seasons in 2024 and 2025. Moore notched 39 catches for 456 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2024 and added 38 receptions for 532 yards and 4 TDs in 2025 – second behind Ryan Wingo for the team lead.

Moore posted two 100-yard games in 2024 – a 9-catch, 114-yard effort against Georgia and a 4-catch, 104-yard day against Mississippi State. Moore’s best game in 2025 was a 6-catch effort for 53 yards against Mississippi State, and he posted a season-best 79 receiving yards on 5 catches against Sam Houston State.

An Anaheim, Calif., native, Moore will enter the transfer portal Jan. 2 as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the country. No. 13 Texas (9-3) takes on No. 18 Michigan (9-3) in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve (3 pm ET, ABC).
