Top QB in the portal? Texas Tech’s Alan Bowman announces transfer from Red Raiders
The transfer portal just added a big name this offseason as Texas Tech quarterback Alan Bowman has announced he’s leaving the Red Raiders.
During his time with Texas Tech, Bowman threw for 5,254 yards with 33 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Bowman also completed 478 of his 713 passes (good for 67 percent completion percentage).
Bowman’s production came despite the fact he battled through significant injuries, including suffering a collapsed lung and a broken collarbone, during his time with the Red Raiders.
While few quarterbacks in the NCAA transfer portal have as much experience and production as Bowman, even better for his next program, the quarterback has three seasons of eligibility remaining in college.
A native of Grapevine, Texas, Bowman signed with Texas Tech over offers from Ole Miss, Cincinnati and Arkansas State, among others.
Any SEC teams short of signal-callers next season would be wise to reach out to Bowman, something that has likely already happened the moment he entered the portal.
