Texas Tech has plenty of weapons as one of the top passing offenses in the FBS, but LSU doesn’t have to worry about one of them.
The Red Raiders suspended one of its top receivers for the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl against LSU on Dec. 29. Devin Lauderdale, second on the team in receptions (43) and receiving yards (639) has been suspended indefinitely.
A school release stated that Lauderdale was disciplined “due to a failure to uphold Texas Tech Athletic Department Student-Athlete Expectations.”
Texas Tech added that he’d have the opportunity to return to the team next season.
Kliff Kingsbury’s Red Raiders are 2nd only to Washington State in passing yards per game this season, averaging 389.7 yards per game. Meanwhile, LSU is 8th in the SEC and 47th in the FBS in passing yards allowed per game (211).
Lauderdale had finished the season strong with a combined 14 catches for 178 yards in the team’s previous two games vs. Kansas State and at Texas.
