Texas is living it up after rolling past, through and over the defending national champions in a major nonconference road victory.
On Saturday, the Longhorns headed north to Ann Arbor to face Michigan in a key top 10 matchup. Expected to be one of the marquee games of Week 2, Texas was a clear road favorite for Saturday, and the Longhorns sucked all the drama out of the eventual final score.
Texas built a 24-3 lead at halftime behind a big-time performance from starting quarterback Quinn Ewers. The Longhorns would add another touchdown in the 3rd quarter, but that was more than enough to win the game 31-12 in blowout fashion.
Ewers finished the game 24-for-36, and Texas came away with a statement win entering the start of September. The Longhorns’ social media team also had some fun with the win.
One of the staples of Michigan Stadium includes the gigantic “Block M” outside the venue. Texas took advantage of the win, revealing a big “Horns Win” poster and the Longhorn logo unfurling over the Block M in a graphic to punctuate Saturday’s blowout.

With the win, Texas cements its spot as one of the top national title contenders in the country and Ewers’ spot as a true contender for the Heisman. Meanwhile, Michigan has more questions than answers in Sherrone Moore’s first season as a head coach.
