On Thanksgiving night, it was reported that Herman had accepted the vacant LSU position, but that he was waiting to see what Texas was going to do with Charlie Strong.
This morning LSU announced its decision to strip the interim tag on Ed Orgeron, naming him the program’s full-time head coach, and Texas followed suit by reliving Strong — making it an easy decision for Herman, who has a 22-4 record and a handful of top-25 wins in two seasons with Houston.
