Texas wide receiver DeAndre Moore totaled 456 yards and 7 touchdowns as the Longhorns advanced to the College Football Playoff semifinals in 2024.

In 2025, though, Arch Manning will be QB1 with Quinn Ewers now in the NFL. And if there’s one difference between Ewers and Manning, it’s their mobility, something that Moore noted on Thursday.

“One had baby wheels and one has super wheels,” Moore said, according to Rivals’ Anwar Richardson.

When a reporter asked which one was which, Moore responded, “Oh, you know.”

We saw Manning showcase those “wheels” in the final game of the regular season against Texas A&M, where he took a direct snap from Ewers 15 yards to the end zone on a 4th-and-2. He also ran one in from 67 yards out against UTSA in September, the longest run by a Longhorn quarterback since the great Vince Young in 2005. Compare that to Ewers, whose highest rushing total in one game was 54 yards.

That aside, the overarching question Texas fans debated all season long was whether or not Ewers was the best option at quarterback for the team despite a CFP appearance. After all, he was briefly benched at one point in favor of Manning. Perhaps that debate was kicked around by Longhorns offensive players, too.

We’ll see how Manning does with the starting job out of the gate and if he can help the Longhorns over the line to a championship.
