The Power Rank is back after a solid debut last week. The analytic prediction system went 7-1 with its SEC selections in Week 1 missing only LSU’s big win over Miami.
If you are unfamiliar with The Power Rank, it comes via Ed Feng’s analytics system, known better as The Power Rank. Feng’s metrics used have accurately predicted the winners of college football games from the 2015 season to the 2017 season 73.7 percent of the time — with an overall record of 1679-598. That number is even more impressive when you factor in that The Power Rank does not pick FBS games against FCS competition.
Here is how The Power Rank predicts the Week 2 action to play out in the SEC between FBS competition:
- Mississippi State will beat Kansas State by 4.0 points on the road. The Bulldogs have a 62 percent chance of victory on the road.
- Clemson will beat Texas A&M by 9.6 points on the road. The Aggies have a 24 percent chance of winning this game at home.
- Georgia will beat South Carolina by 10.0 on the road. The Gamecocks have a 23 percent chance of winning this game at home.
- Florida will beat Kentucky by 8.5 points at home. The Gators have a 74 percent chance of winning this game at home.
- Missouri will beat Wyoming by 10.0 points at home. The Tigers have a 77 percent chance of winning this game at home.
- Arkansas will beat Colorado State by 5.6 points on the road. The Razorbacks have a 66 percent chance of winning this game on the road.
