The SEC was 1 of 2 Power 5 conferences to have net revenue gain in 2021 following 2020 season
The 2021 football conference revenue numbers were released by Steve Berkowitz of USA Today on Friday. The SEC was one of the only conferences that actually had its revenue numbers increase from the previous 2020 Covid-19 season.
The only conferences to have their total revenue numbers increase in 2021 were the SEC and ACC. It’s also worth noting that both the SEC and ACC also played the most football games out of any of the other Power 5 conferences. The B1G, Big 12, and Pac-12 all had losses in total revenue compared to 2020.
Here are the numbers:
- SEC: $833 million (+105M)
- B1G: $679.8 million (-$89M)
- ACC: $578.3 million (+$82M)
- Big 12: $356 million (-$53M)
- Pac-12: $343. 5 million (-$190M)
Total revenue by conference for FY21, when ACC and SEC played the most football games and Pac-12 the least:
