Arkansas’ record in 2020, its first season under Sam Pittman, didn’t tell the whole story of the strides the program took from a difficult run of seasons prior to that. As the Razorbacks head to the 2021 campaign, they may have more room to grow, but optimism is abounding in Fayetteville.

Part of that is the culture Pittman has instilled within the team and how well the players have taken to it, according to defensive coordinator Barry Odom.

“We’re better because we’ve got a wonderful head coach that lays out a plan for us to execute,” Odom said on Thursday. “There’s not any gray area on what it should look like, what it should be, and our kids understand the openness, the honesty, and the transparency that he has, and ultimately what is important to our team and our program on how to go play.

“Our guys have bought into that. They’re hungry to be good and they’re hungry to have success.”

Arkansas opens its season against Rice on Sept. 4.
