Despite losing several key players from a team that ended its season in heartbreaking fashion, Georgia appears to be unaffected by any regression or hangover.
In fact, the No. 3 Bulldogs have thoroughly dominated their first three opponents and are scoring at a historic pace relative to program history.
2nd time in school history that Georgia has scored 40+ points in each of its 1st 3 games (2012)

Georgia beat down Austin Peay 45-0 in the season opener before handling South Carolina 41-17 last week, and the Bulldogs topped 40 points before the end of the first half against Middle Tennessee State on Saturday.
Though that’s an impressive stat for Georgia, fans probably aren’t too thrilled about any comparison to the 2012 season, when the Bulldogs came five yards away from beating Alabama in the SEC championship game. The Crimson Tide went on to demolish Notre Dame in the national championship game, which surely made the loss even more bitter for Georgia.
Fittingly, the Bulldogs seem destined to meet Alabama in Atlanta for this year’s SEC title bout.
If they keep scoring at this pace, that’s how things will likely play out.
