It is always exciting to see former SEC stars playing at a high level in the NFL.

The month of September is already coming to close, and four players from the SEC were chosen for Player of the Month honors. Former UGA RB Todd Gurley was selected NFC Offensive Player of the Month, former South Carolina LB/DE Melvin Ingram was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month, former South Carolina kicker Ryan Succop was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month, and former LSU CB Tre’Davious White was selected NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month.

Gurley has been a big part of both the rushing and passing attack of the Los Angeles Rams. He has two games already with five receptions in addition to his work on the ground.

For the entire month of September, Gurley posted 241 yards rushing, 140 yards receiving, and six total TDs. That kind of dynamic performance is what LA envisioned when they selected Gurley 10th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Pro Football Talk tweeted out the announcement:

Ingram has turned into a solid pass rushers over his career with the Los Angeles Chargers. He has started 2017 on a tear with 5.5 sacks and 13 total tackles in three games during September. Ingram will have to work hard to keep up that pace, but he has already posted the third most sacks for a season in his career.

Pro Football Talk tweeted the announcement:

Succop has been one of the most consistent kickers in the NFL during his time with the Tennessee Titans. He is off to another strong start by connecting on 10 of 11 field goal attempts and converting all eight extra-point opportunities through the first three games this season.

The Tennessee Titans made the announcement on Twitter:

White is having a good start to his career with the Buffalo Bills. He has started all three games and performed well with 14 total tackles, an interception, and 7 pass break-ups. Quarterbacks that try to pick on the rookie White will be in for a big surprise as he already looks like a solid corner in the NFL.
