Tiger Stadium, otherwise known as Death Valley, was named the No. 1 college football stadium by The Athletic, which released a top 10 list on Wednesday morning.

The Athletic social media account posted that top 10 stadium list with a message to fans on why it picked Tiger Stadium as the best of the best college football stadiums.

“‘Saturday night in Death Valley’ is not just a phrase. At LSU, it’s an experience,” wrote The Athletic atop the post.

LSU enjoys a particular home-field advantage in Baton Rouge with those Saturday night matchups, and the Tigers have used that advantage throughout their proud history to pile up home victories on a yearly basis. Tiger Stadium is such a big advantage for the home team that “Death Valley” became a nickname for the imposing stadium for visiting teams.

The SEC had a few more of its stadiums represented in the top 10 list. Tennessee‘s Neyland Stadium, with its checkerboard end zones and all, came in at No. 6 on the list. Texas A&M‘s Kyle Field, featuring its famed 12th Man, was at No. 8.

Penn State’s Beaver Stadium came in right behind LSU at No. 2, while venerable Notre Dame Stadium was at No. 3.
