As spring training gets underway, plenty of MLB players are going to get injured as they try to get back into the swing (pun intended) of things.
However, it’s also a time for bizarre injuries, as baseball seems to be a magnet for such rare occurrences. On Sunday, it was former Florida QB and current SEC analyst Tim Tebow’s chance to suffer a strange injury.
According to reporter Mike Puma, Tebow stepped on a sprinkler head in the New York Mets’ spring training complex outfield and sprained his ankle:

It’s not clear at this point how long Tebow will be out with the injury, but sprained ankles can take a while to heal properly.
This is certainly a disappointing setback for Tebow, who was hoping to build on a decent 2017 season this spring. For now, though, he’ll be sidelined, with a healthy new respect for outfield sprinklers.
