Tim Tebow on UGA’s loss to Auburn: ‘It was a great thing for Georgia’

The Georgia Bulldogs went to Auburn last weekend and got stomped, falling to the Tigers 40-17.
However, it was only the Bulldogs’ first loss of the season, so coach Kirby Smart’s squad still has a lot to play for this season, starting with Saturday’s game against Kentucky.
In fact, SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow thinks Georgia is better off for having lost. During his appearance on SportsCenter on Saturday morning, Tebow said Georgia still controls its own destiny (via 247Sports):
“I don’t think it (derailed Georgia’s) season at all, it was the perfect storm,” Tebow said. “Gus Malzahn and Auburn were clicking on all cylinders. They’re hitting screen passes going to the house, hitting on posts. Georgia missed two touchdowns early, which would’ve put them up, 21-6.
“I think it was the perfect storm and I think it was a great thing for Georgia. They control their own destiny and they’re locked in a focused.”
Of course, Georgia’s road to the College Football Playoff isn’t easy, as the Dawgs will have to beat Kentucky, Georgia Tech and either Alabama or Auburn in the SEC Championship Game.
However, the road to the final four is still there for the Bulldogs, so we’ll see if they respond well to last week’s speed bump.
