ESPN’s Tom Hart expressed how “consistently and continually” impressed he is with LSU’s Jayden Daniels.

On “McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning,” Hart talked about teams trying to find ways to limit Daniels’ ability to make plays.

“I just don’t know how you defend him,” Hart said.

In the Tigers’ 62-0 win over Army on Saturday, Daniels was 11-of-15 for 279 yards and a touchdown.

Hart noted that Daniels is kind of like former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, noting “if you have Young out of pocket you can still make a play.”

“(Young) wasn’t a threat to run anyone over, and he’s a smart runner,” Hart said.

Hart noted that if a defender tries to get Daniels in the pocket or behind, “forget about it.”

“His ability to be accurate on deep throws while on the move, and with the wide receiving core he has, makes that offense incredibly dangerous and unique,” Hart said.

Greg McElroy, on his morning show, said Daniels does a great job of “extending plays and running.”

“You have to play zone with a guy who’s that athletic,” McElroy said, but noted that defenses wouldn’t want to play “man” with LSU’s weapons on offense.

“He’s going to make linebackers miss, and run pass safeties in some cases,” McElroy said of Daniels.

Hart noted in the end, opposing defenses have to find a way to make Daniels run and take away his passing opportunities. Teams could also try to limit Daniels’ possessions, Hart added.

“He takes more direct hits than any quarterback I’ve ever seen,” Hart said, noting he puts his body on the line when running.

No. 19 LSU is currently in a bye week. On Nov. 4, the Tigers will take on No. 9 Alabama.
