Tony Romo has an eye for football and is widely regarded as one of the best broadcasters in the game. However, it did not take a broadcaster as well-versed as Romo to analyze one particular throw by Mac Jones.

During Sunday’s game with the New England Patriots, Jones rolled out and had an easy completion available with a wide-open receiver. However, Jones whiffed on the throw and was picked off while Romo reacted to the “horrendous” attempt by the QB.

“I mean, he is open — Hunter Henry — and this is just a horrendous throw by Mac Jones,” said Romo. “This one, he’s had a couple this year he wants back, but this is going to be right up there. wide-open Henry and he just misses him.”

Coming out of halftime against the Raiders, Jones has completed 10-of-16 passes for 116 yards with the interception. The Pat offense managed just a lone field goal in the first half.

Jones’ current play is certainly troubling for a player that has regressed every season in the league since a Pro Bowl nod as a rookie. This season, Jones is posting a career-low completion percentage (62.5%) with a career-high interception percentage (3.6%). Sunday’s interception gives Jones his 7th of the season in 6 games played.
