Where will Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo be next year?
At the start of the 2016 season, that wasn’t a question on anyone’s mind. However, with the emergence of former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott, a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Cowboys believe they have their next franchise quarterback.
That leaves Romo as the odd man out.
On Sunday, NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport wrote that Romo could end up with the Denver Broncos in 2017, as the Cowboys are prepared to hand the keys to the offense over to Prescott.
That would be an interesting move that could have a major impact on the NFL. The Broncos, with their talented skill-position players and elite defense, have had success with aging quarterbacks (Peyton Manning, anyone?) and could become a Super Bowl favorite next year with Romo on board.
Other teams that could be in the mix for Romo’s services include the Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals.
Romo will serve as Prescott’s backup on Sunday when the Cowboys host the Baltimore Ravens. Watch the game at 1 p.m. Eastern time on CBS.
