Tony Vitello sure seems like a guy that appreciates the Tennessee fan base.
After years of being one of the lower-tier programs in the Southeastern Conference, Vitello has turned Tennessee into not only one of the league’s best teams, he’s turned the Volunteers into a legitimate national championship contender in a few short years.
Now with Tennessee advancing to the Super Regionals for the first time in 16 years, a regional the Vols will most likely be hosting, Vitello’s team is in a prime position to punch its ticket to the College World Series.
Tennessee advanced on Sunday evening after beating Liberty 3-1 in Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Drew Gilbert played a major role in the team’s win with this three-run blast:

Following the game, Vitello jumped into the stands to celebrate with the Tennessee faithful:
Yeah….I think @Vol_Baseball has found their coach for a long long long time.
