- Offers: Florida, Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Clemson
- Weekend visit? No
- National Rank: No. 1 247Sports; No. 3 ESPN300; No. 1 Scout
- The Skinny: Ivey is one of the only elite prospects in the nation not scheduled to make an official visit this weekend, although he made official visits to LSU, Auburn and Florida during the season. Those close to the situation have casually noted that Ivey seems to be warming up to the idea of playing for coach Jim McElwain at Florida, even though McElwain was still the coach at Colorado State when Ivey visited Gainesville in mid-October.
2. Byron Cowart, Seffner, Fla.
- Offers: Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, Maryland
- Weekend visit? Yes — Auburn
- National Rank: No. 3 247Sports; No. 2 ESPN300; No. 10 Scout
- The Skinny: Cowart is one of a number of top-flight players scheduled to make an official visit to Auburn this weekend to meet new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp. He’s also considering Florida and Florida State in addition to the Tigers, and has an official visit to FSU scheduled for Jan. 30. Florida is still considered to be atop his list as it stands today, but gauging Florida’s standing on the recruiting trail is difficult as UF has the fewest commits in the SEC upon changing head coaches just last month.
3. Iman Marshall, Long Beach, Calif.
- Offers: USC, LSU, Michigan, Florida State, Notre Dame
- Weekend visit? Yes — Florida State (Fri.), Michigan (Mon.)
- National Rank: No. 4 247Sports; No. 7 ESPN300; No. 11 Scout
- The Skinny: Marshall will be making the rounds this weekend following the lifting of the dead period, visiting Florida State on Friday before shipping up to Michigan to meet new coach Jim Harbaugh on Monday. LSU remains the lone SEC school on Marshall’s short list of contenders, and he’s scheduled to make a visit to Baton Rouge next weekend (Jan. 23) to meet Kevin Steele and the Tigers’ new defensive coaching staff.
4. CeCe Jefferson, Glen Saint Mary, Fla.
- Offers: Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida
- Weekend visit? Yes — Auburn
- National Rank: No. 5 247Sports; No. 9 ESPN300; No. 5 Scout
- The Skinny: Jefferson is only considering SEC programs with just a few weeks to go before national signing day, but the question remains where in the conference he’ll land. The touted defensive end prospect reportedly thinks very highly of Ole Miss and its Landshark defense, although its been more than three months since he made his official visit to Oxford. He has an official visit to Auburn scheduled for this weekend and will also visit LSU on Jan. 30 before making a decision.
5. Terry Beckner Jr., East St. Louis, Ill.
- Offers: Missouri, Ohio State, Auburn, Florida State, LSU
- Weekend visit? Yes — Auburn
- National Rank: No. 16 247Sports; No. 1 ESPN300; No. 34 Scout
- The Skinny: Beckner is slated to have a busy month of January, as he has visits scheduled to Auburn this weekend, recently crowned national champion Ohio State next weekend and Missouri on the final weekend of the month. 247Sports considers Missouri the leader in the clubhouse before he makes any of these visits, and with its history of producing NFL defensive line prospects it’s not hard to understand why.
6. Daylon Mack, Gladwater, Texas
- Offers: Texas A&M, TCU, Auburn, Baylor, LSU
- Weekend visit? Yes — Auburn
- National Rank: No. 17 247Sports; No. 6 ESPN 300; No. 9 Scout
- The Skinny: Mack has been high on TCU and defensive-minded head coach Gary Patterson throughout the recruitment process, but his SEC interests have swung from LSU to Texas A&M and Auburn after some coaching shakeup throughout the conference. Mack remains intrigued by Muschamp and the Tigers, and he’ll visit the Plains this weekend. He’s also shown a fondness for Chavis, and his interests in LSU turned from the Bayou to the Lone Star State when Chavis left for A&M.
7. Soso Jamabo, Plano, Texas
- Offers: UCLA, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Texas, Alabama
- Weekend visit? Yes — Texas A&M
- National Rank: No. 28 247Sports; No. 28 ESPN300; No. 20 Scout
- The Skinny: Jamabo’s interest in Texas A&M has grown since he spent a week with Aggie commits Kyler Murray and Christian Kirk at the Under Armour All-America game festivities earlier this month. He’ll visit College Station this weekend, but he’ll continue to give consideration to a number of schools outside the SEC as well. His only other visit scheduled this month is to the University of Texas on Jan. 23.
8. Damarkus Lodge, Cedar Hill, Texas
- Offers: Ole Miss, Texas A&M, LSU, USC, Baylor
- Weekend visit? Yes — Texas A&M
- National Rank: No. 37 247Sports; No. 57 ESPN300; No. 31 Scout
- The Skinny: Lodge is another Texas native who bonded with Murray, Kirk and Jamabo at the Under Armour game and continues to consider Texas A&M. He’ll visit A&M this weekend and will visit Ole Miss on Jan. 23. Both programs are on the chase in the SEC West, but while Lodge would join a wide receiver corps loaded with four- and five-star prospects at Texas A&M, he’d have a chance to step in right away and complement Laquon Treadwell in the Ole Miss offense next season.
9. Roquan Smith, Montezuma, Ga.
- Offers: Michigan, Georgia, UCLA, USC, Alabama
- Weekend visit? Yes — Michigan
- National Rank: No. 50 247Sports; No. 29 ESPN300; No. 68 Scout
- The Skinny: Smith is slated to visit Michigan this weekend as Harbaugh aims to salvage an above-average recruiting class with limited time to work the recruiting trail. He’ll also visit UCLA before the end of the month. The Georgia native continues to consider UGA, which he visited last month before the onset of the dead period, and before he makes his other visits the popular opinion is that he’ll come to Athens to play for Mark Richt and the Dawgs.
10. Mark Fields, Cornelius, N.C.
- Offers: Clemson, LSU, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina
- Weekend visit? Yes — Clemson
- National Rank: No. 98 247Sports; No. 169 ESPN300; No. 155 Scout
- The Skinny: Fields’ recruitment is now wide-open since he decommitted from South Carolina last month, and the North Carolina native will begin the newest chapter of his search for a home by visiting Clemson this weekend. He’ll also visit Texas and LSU before the end of the month, and although he decommitted from the Gamecocks he has not yet removed them from his list of schools he’s considering in the coming weeks.
