Duncanville (Texas) High running back Caden Durham will reveal his college commitment on Aug. 10, and he’ll decide between a trio of SEC schools.

The 5-foot-9, 195-pound Durham is a top-100 prospect in the 2024 class. He’s down to LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. The Aggies hosted him for an official visit on June 2. Two weeks later, he was in Norman on an official. He visited LSU twice after the OU trip, with Geaux247’s Sonny Shipp noting that his brother accompanied him on the first trip and his mother went with him for the second.

Durham’s teammate, 5-star edge Colin Simmons, is also planning to announce his college commitment the same day. LSU is a threat in both recruitments.

The Tigers have competition from Oklahoma, though. Two national recruiting experts at 247Sports have logged predictions for Durham to pick LSU. A pair of Oklahoma reporters in the 247 network have put in predictions for the Sooners to win his signature.

Oklahoma already has 1 elite running back pledged to the 2024 class in 4-star Taylor Tatum. Three-star OKC native Xavier Robinson is also in the class. Neither A&M nor LSU have a known commitment from a 2024 running back yet.

Durham is one of the fastest players in the state of Texas for his class. He ran a wind-aided 10.25-second 100-meter in regional finals and qualified for state. He ran 100-meter times of 10.70 and 10.72 at the AAU Region 18 Qualifier in July 2022, then turned around and posted a 10.86 100m time and a 21.94 200m time at the AAU Junior Olympics in August 2022.

As a junior last fall, Durham ran for 1,960 yards and 36 touchdowns while averaging 9.3 yards a carry for a Duncanville team that won a state title.

He’s a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite and ranked as the No. 95 player in the class. Durham is also the No. 9 prospect at his position and the No. 18 recruit from the Lone Star State.
