Auburn senior linebacker Cassanova McKinzy is on the sideline with crutches after suffering a right leg injury in the first half of the Birmingham Bowl against Memphis.
McKinzy, who’s from Birmingham, laid on the field while trainers cared for him before being helped off the field and was not putting any weight on the leg.
The injury isn’t good news for McKinzy, who’s projected as a fifth-round pick by CBSSports.com. McKinzy entered the bowl game with 74 tackles, 3rd-most on the team. Meanwhile, his 10 tackles for loss were a team-high.
