Forgetting what all sorts of groundhogs have “predicted,” spring doesn’t officially begin until March 20. But by the end of next week, all but one SEC team will be in the middle of spring football practice.
We’ve laid out the top five priorities for every SEC team during the 15 allotted organized practice sessions. Below are links to all 14 stories, along with the top priority for each of the programs.
A good place to start? Quarterback. Eight of the 14 stories mention the quarterback position as part of the No. 1 priority, while just two teams need to look at the defense first.
- Alabama: Determine the frontrunner at quarterback
- Arkansas: Find a way to create some explosive plays on offense
- Auburn: Replace the receivers beyond Duke Williams
- Florida: Identify the offensive strengths
- Georgia: Work toward finding a starting quarterback
- Kentucky: Continue developing QB Patrick Towles
- LSU: Develop the quarterbacks
- Mississippi State: Develop the tandem of QB Dak Prescott and WR De’Runnya Wilson
- Missouri: Find some adequate receivers
- Ole Miss: Decide on a starting quarterback
- South Carolina: Find pass rushers
- Tennessee: Develop and prepare QB Joshua Dobbs for 2015
- Texas A&M: Improve the defensive line’s performance against the run
