Houston native Holton Hill is one of the top uncommitted cornerbacks in the nation. The four-star prospect ranks No. 99 overall and is the No. 9 cornerback for the 2015 recruiting class.
Hill was named District 20-6A MVP as a senior and was a first-team all-district selection as a junior. Five SEC teams have offered scholarships, but only Alabama and LSU have made the blue chipper’s top-5, which also includes FSU, Baylor and Texas.

Hill announced his final five choices during an official visit to FSU on Nov. 28. The four-star cornerback has since visited LSU and Texas, while hosting coaching visits to FSU assistant Tim Brewster and Arkansas cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings.
The Longhorns and Bears hold the advantage in proximity, with Texas A&M — who was once perceived as the favorite — eliminated from the prospect’s final choices.
“[Charlie Strong and Vance Bedford] are just telling me I need to come down and have fun,” Hill told InsideTexas.com in July. “They want me to get a feel for Austin and Texas. They want me there every chance and I like that. Being around the staff and being on campus, it’s supposed to be fun. Get that Texas vibe.
“(Texas) wants me at corner and that’s where I belong,” Hill said. “It’s where I feel most comfortable and that’s where most people are recruiting me.”
However, the non-Lonestar State schools should make a strong push before Hill announces his commitment.
Hill ranks well in several areas, according to the 247Sports skills rankings. The senior has good length and strong instincts, but needs to improve his speed, change of direction and tackling to become an elite cornerback.
