Auburn’s recruiting class now firmly sits in the top 10 in the nation following the pledge of four-star athlete Cam’Ron Kelly. Kelly, a recent Virginia Tech decommit, is a native of Chesapeake, Va., picked the Tigers over Penn State and Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect ranks as the No. 13 athlete in the nation, the No. 4 overall recruit from Virginia and the nation’s No. 177 recruit in the 2019 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Tigers now have 16 commits lined up in the class, which ranks No. 8 in the nation and No. 5 in the SEC.
Kelly projects as either a defensive back or a receiver for the Tigers. Considering Auburn’s class is lacking in the defensive secondary, he could be slotted in to start his college career on the defensive side of the ball.
