Travis Kelce faced what he called one of the best college football teams of all time in Tim Tebow’s Florida Gators. He talked about what it was like on ‘Pardon My Take’ on Monday.

Kelce and Tebow faced off in the 2010 Sugar Bowl and things did not go well for the Bearcats. Florida ended up beating Cincinnati by a score of 51-24.

Apparently, people were talking about how Tebow could not throw the ball well despite the Florida QB throwing for 482 yards passing that day. Kelce was a redshirt freshman with the Bearcats at the time.

“My only memory of Tim Tebow on the football field is him just throwing us a shellacking in the Sugar Bowl. We go undefeated, Brian Kelly after the season (leaves for Notre Dame). We’re playing with a bunch of dads and administrative guys from Cincinnati and we go and play arguably one of the best college football teams ever. They said Tebow couldn’t throw, well he threw for like 500 yards that day.”

That Sugar Bowl victory was Tebow’s last game in a Gators uniform. He would go on to play for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets in the NFL.

Kelce currently plays for the Kansas City Chiefs alongside QB Pat Mahomes.
