If Tre’ Williams was hoping to get signed on by an NFL franchise this offseason, he isn’t doing himself any favors.

The former Auburn defender racked up 188 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and defended two passes during his time on The Plains but has yet to play in the NFL during the regular season.

Now it’s being reported by Dov Kleiman that Williams has been suspended two games by the NFL. If/when Williams is signed, he is allowed to participate in all training camp and practice activities but he just can’t play in the regular season until he serves his two-game suspension.

Williams missed all of last season due to injury and worked for Auburn in the recruiting office during that time. The Lions signed Williams this offseason but have released him prior to the start of the team’s upcoming training camp.
