For years now, former Alabama RB Trent Richardson’s 2012 national championship game has been missing.
Richardson long claimed the ring had been stolen, but it was never recovered… until now. On Saturday, FOX 5 reporter Randy Travis managed to track down the missing jewelry.
As you can see in the tweet below, Richardson’s title ring was found, ironically, in Athens, where an Uber driver found it downtown:
CHAMPIONSHIP RING MYSTERY SOLVED — @AlabamaFTBL tells me Trent Richardson had his 2012 ring stolen. An uber driver in Athens (of all places) tells me he found it downtown a few years ago but couldn't get anyone from the school to call back. Making plans now to reunite the two. pic.twitter.com/1iXnYXIfUK

Plans are being made to reunite Richardson with the ring, and it will be interesting to see if that reunion happens on Monday at the National Championship Game.
Richardson most recently suited up for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League, helping them finish the year with a bang.
It remains to be seen if he’ll be in attendance in Atlanta on Monday night.
