Trevon Diggs, former Alabama star, reportedly joins ranks of highest-paid DBs in NFL

Trevon Diggs is one of the young stars in the NFL at the defensive back position. Now, he’s reportedly joining the ranks of the highest-paid players at the position this offseason.
According to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Diggs has agreed to terms on a 5-year extension with the Dallas Cowboys. That deal is reportedly worth $97 million with a max value of $104 million. Pelissero also reports the signing bonus for the deal is $21.25 million.

Diggs was a 2nd-rick pick by the Cowboys out of Alabama in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has started 44 games across his first 3 seasons in the league, including a first-team All-Pro selection in 2021.
Diggs set his career-high with 11 interceptions and 2 touchdowns in the 2021 season. Overall, he has 17 interceptions in 3 seasons to go with 169 total tackles and 49 pass breakups.
